Description
Learn how to measure yourself for stretch fabrics, cut out a pattern using a rotary cutter and sew together on the sewing machine. No overlocker required.
The pattern comes with 3/4 length sleeves but we can help you lengthen them if required (as shown in our pictures)
All pupils will need a copy of the pattern (Available HERE) and the required amount of fabric for their chosen size. Please refer to the pattern information once purchased. If you need any help, then please feel free to ask.
If you purchase a PDF patterm, please follow the printing instructions, making sure it is printed to the correct size and stick your pattern together before class. Alternatively, send off the A0 copy for printing. Please DO NOT cut it out from the paper at this point.
Printed copies are available from some selected UK suppliers.
Perfect for knit fabrics of all kinds, with at least 25% stretch. If you choose a knit with more body, like a ponte, it will have a more structured boxy look. If you sew it in a drapier knit, like a viscose jersey, it will have a more floaty look.We recommend lightweight cotton or viscose jersey to give a flowing feel to the sleeves. But not too lightweight that it will stretch out across the bust.
You will also need
- 1 1/2 metres of ½” wide elastic. Use bra strap elastic if you can find it. It is stronger and more durable than standard elastic. If you can’t obtain bra strap elastic, standard elastic will be just fine!
