Description
This beautiful shawl is so easy to hook up and grows really, really quickly. You just need to be able to do a treble crochet and hold your hook and you are off!
The first 8 rows are the fiddliest bits so during class we will get you started and well on your way to finishing your shawl at your own pace.
All the pictures shown here are from members of our online crochet club who have enjoyed making this virtually together during October 2017. Imagine how easy you will find it having Claire on hand to get you started.
You will be sent a cake of Batik Swirl yarn by stylecraft so that you have just the thing to make your first fronds with. Once you’ve made this one any DK yarn of a variegated shade works well. You will just need 200g.
UK orders only I am afraid due to postal times prior to class. Please also be realistic with your ability. Ideally you will have completed my intermediate crochet course and be able to follow a simple pattern.
We will be using a 4mm hook for the project but if you are a tight crocheter you might want to have a 4.5/5 or even larger on hand. We will do a tension sample as part of the class to determine the right size hook for you.
You will also need to purchase a copy of the Fronds shawl pattern and have it available for class. Don’t be tempted to start before class though as we will be working on it together and you will be sent some additional notes via email closer to the time. We pride ourselves in supporting independent pattern designers so think it’s only fair that you all buy your own copy and the designer earns the wage she deserves. Claire will be asking to see your pattern via zoom before we start the class either a paper copy or your digital download on a phone or screen.
You can buy the pattern from ravelry here https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/fronds-shawl

This pattern looks wonderful when made up and Claire’s instructions and advice are clear and helpful. This is a start up class to carry on the shawl at home and I love the way my shawl is working up. Thanks a Claire!
